The 2027 Atomic Maven Junior is the junior girls' version of the Maven family, built for young skiers who are ready to graduate from beginner skis and start exploring the whole mountain. Designed with a softer flex and lighter construction tuned to junior bodies and skill levels.

Why we like it:

Building a real junior version of an adult ski (rather than just a colorway swap) is a meaningful difference. The construction is actually tuned for kids' weight and ability, which means the ski performs at the speeds kids actually ski, rather than feeling stiff and unresponsive.

Who it's for:

Junior girls who can already link turns and are ready for a real all-mountain ski. Best for kids in the 8-12 age range who are growing past beginner gear and want something with more performance for the whole mountain.

Highlights:

The Maven Junior uses a Densolite Core construction, which keeps the ski light enough for younger skiers to bend without sacrificing too much downhill stability. The directional shape and All Mountain Rocker profile give the ski real all-mountain versatility, so kids can ski groomers, soft snow, and the occasional off-trail adventure with the same pair of skis. Dura Cap sidewalls add durability, which matters a lot at the junior level where skis take a beating in lessons, racks, and everyday use. The factory tune at 87 side and 1.3 base is set up for clean edge engagement out of the shop. Available in 140 and 150 cm lengths to fit kids growing into adult-size gear.

Things to consider:

Junior-tuned construction means this isn't a hand-me-down ski for advanced teens or smaller adults. Older or more advanced junior girls who have outgrown the longest sizes should look at the smaller adult Maven 84 or 86 C.

Fit & sizing considerations:

Most junior skiers will do well with a length somewhere between the chin and the top of the head. Bigger or more advanced kids can size up to 150 for more stability.
